ffffffff (read if you've commissioned me)

Journal Entry: Thu Jan 31, 2013, 6:08 PM

Hi guys! Sorry for my inactivity as of late; I just started a new semester at college and the workload is a lot heavier than I expected. I'll try to answer all your messages as soon as I can; sorry if I've left any of you hanging!

So anyway, it's been a while since I've posted anything, and it's probably going to be quite a while longer before I post anything else. Part of the reason is I don't like posting things when I have unanswered messages sitting in my inbox, and the other reason is that I can't use Photoshop.

Yesterday, something went wrong when I tried to boot up my computer and I had to do a system restore to set things straight. I scanned my computer for viruses and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it-- I think I just left my computer on sleep mode for too long which messed with my Adobe product settings or something? idk. Anyway, when I tried opening Photoshop today, a prompt came up telling me to re-activate the software.

WELL, as luck would have it, my version of Photoshop is balls-old (CS1) and as a result, it's no longer supported by Adobe's official activation software. BALLS.

Fortunately, Photoshop was the only thing to have been affected. Flash and Illustrator both seem to work just fine, and Imageready still works as well. I'd seriously freak out if Imageready broke because that's the software I use to do the animating portion of my pixel art and the software has been discontinued for quite some time now.

ANYWAY, Photoshop is still broken and now I have to find a way to fix it, which hopefully shouldn't take too long but it still puts a delay on the projects I've meant to complete which have been delayed for quite some time by my classes already. OTL;

So if you have commissioned me, I'm sorry but it's going to take a bit longer for me to complete your commission. I WILL finish them, though, because it would be a dickish thing for me to do if I just abandoned them because of a minor inconvenience. (This is why I don't accept payment until after I've finished commissions. Less guilt on my end, haha)

This will also mean, however, that the Paypal commissions I planned to open after this batch will have to be pushed back farther... yet again.

Oh and Post-Mortem is going to have to be put on hold again. OH BOY. At least I can still work on the traditional portion while I work to get this resolved.

TL;DR: Photoshop broke and stuff is going to be delayed. Sorry about that.

Now I have a question about payment after commissions. How do you prevent people from cheating you out of giving them free art? I'm curious because I sometimes hear people having issues with getting paid and such.

I had to fix my CS2 and found it on Adobe's website actually. They have the download and all the fun stuff that you need right there... I believe the link is here:

I'm not quiet sure if this is exactly what you need but I hope it helps?

:noes: That sucks.. Though I can relate with the work load; I've got mocks to revise for and a Sixth Form Application to fill in OTL;

I'm really glad that they are doing this. This gives an opportunity for those who don't have photoshop to have it. Granted, CS2 is now on the older side, it still has alot of really nifty features and is STILL a full version of photoshop.
