Rant: Butthurt about Digital ArtistsSo, knowing me, I have many pet peeves, but one in particular has been gnawing at me ever since I joined DA, and that would be some people's misconceptions and hatred toward Digital Art. I've fucking had it with people BAWWWWing about how it's "cheap" or "easier" to do.

It's been sort of a trend lately to take pride in being a traditional artist, firmly believing you're more superior than those who use tablets, Paint Sai, or Photoshop because you can pick up a fucking pencil. Psst, hey, dumbass, Digital Artists also can draw. They're ARTISTS. I use Photoshop to color, but I draw my line-art, and can easily color it in traditional tools like shader pencils. I chose to use Photoshop because I like the result.
People also think the reason we use the programs is because it's easy to do, and it's for people who aren't

Far be it from me to tell anyone how to comment on anything.
However, I might like to give a polite suggestion.  I see a lot of comments all over DA that say "That reminds me of ________" and nothing more.  Really, it's not a big deal... People are going to automatically look at something and associate it with something they already know.  That's just how we work.  Also, it's common for artist to borrow from things that inspire them, so it's not a surprise that a lot of things look like a lot of other things and stuff! ..... and.... things.  Yeah.
BUT... I can't help but wonder why someone feels compelled to tell an artist something like that.  What they are trying to accomplish?  When I get comments that are solely telling me that something looks like something else, my first feeling is that they're telling me I'm ripping off something... even if that may not be

So lately I've had issues with my head. No, I'm not mentally unstable. T.T But I've had this migraine for a month and it just never goes away. So my parents have had these tests done on me recently. Today I went for a blood test. ADFGHJKL IT HURT LIKE HELL AND AFTERWARDS MY ARMS WAS THIS WEEEEIIIRRDDDD COMBINATION OF NUMB AND IN PAIN AND I HATED IT!!!! And I only gave like an ounce of blood. So I was thinking, and I decided that I would never be able to donate blood, because you have to give like a whole pint. Obviously, if someone close to me was dying and they needed my blood, I would man up and give it to them, but I mean, I think I would probably pass out. I hater needles and blood and doctors and BLEH! I'm super squeamish if you've never been able to tell. Lol so

So...There is this tumblr where people submit stamps to from DeviantART so people can rage over them and send death threats over the internet... ah, good times...

And I am Blown Away Once Again by Human StupiditySo, I did something stupid. I took a Tumblr tag that someone else had already claimed — the ThetaStuck tag to be specific. I had no idea the tag was already in use, and at the time I set it up, I didn't know that I could actually search tags.
Well, I found out yesterday that she was PISSED about me using her tag. And I felt like absolute shit. So, I sent the-tyrianempress a lengthy (by tumblr standards) apology, and told her we were going to change the name of our adventure.
Apparently, she has my URL blocked. So I sent the apology again as an anon. And she STILL ignored it.
And now I feel like hell because I vented to a friend, and she got involved. And the-tyrianempress ripped into her.
I tried being nice… but my hell, I figured I was going to be apologizing to another human being, not a complete bitch.

My name is AnamCara, I am 14 years old this September. I've grown up in a large family, and as I continue to grow so does the amount of children. We live a pretty normal-sized house with a large backyard full of life and animals; a "mini-farm" as we call it. I really love animals and I get along with just about anyone. Still waiting to hear back from my roommate… I texted her two hours ago to see if she was okay, and I haven't heard anything from her yet.
Last I saw her, she was getting ready for a date. That was approximately 34 hours ago. She mentioned to me that she was worried about the boy reading too much into the date, but said she'd be fine and text me if she needed 'saving'.
I stayed up last night as well waiting for her to come home. Got a text from her phone at about 5:30 in the morning. Very generic "I fell asleep at his house don't worry about me"… And I didn't think too much of it at the time, but she STILL hasn't come home.
I'm stalking her Facebook. She posted something at 8:30 last night… also something very generic and not like her.
And on another note, she made plans to go do stuff this morning. Normally when that happens, she's home and in bed fairly early so she can be awake with enough time to get ready.

I am a freshman at Southern Utah University, and though the year has just started, I'm already struggling to make tuition payments. I came knowing that money would be tight and finances would be difficult, but that was with the naive assumption I would be working part time as well. What I didn't take into account was the fact that Cedar City — where SUU is located — is a very small place. I've been living here for a month, and been trying to find work here since July… however, I consider myself miraculously lucky to have gotten a single interview at all. There is next to no demand for work here, and I find myself lost in a sea of others like me who are desperate for any sort of income.
