HEY DO YOU LIKE CONTESTS AND WINNING PRIZES? SO DO I. LET'S DO A CONTEST.
As you might have inferred from the first line in this journal, I'm actually not very good at writing introductions to these things, so I guess I'll just jump right into it or something, idk.
The prompt for this contest is draw any of my characters at a different age than what they normally appear as.
So what does this entail? Well, you can draw an adult the way you think they'd look as a child, or you could draw a kid as a grown-ass adult-- hell, you can even draw what you think my characters would look like if they belonged in a retirement center! Bonus points if you come up with a new outfit for them, as well! It's really all up to you.
A contest without rules isn't much of a contest, now is it? Here are some things you should keep in mind:
This goes without saying, but your entry should follow the prompt. Even if you submit the nicest drawing of Bill Clinton you've ever drawn in your life, I won't accept it as an entry because Bill Clinton is an actual person and doesn't fit within the parameters of my prompt.
There should be a noticeable difference in age between the character's stock design and the design in your entry. If you draw a 22-year-old character as a 23-year-old, it will be difficult to tell if anything has changed.
Please no NSFW entries! dA has really strict rules about nudity/sexual themes and children, even if they have been aged up. I don't want you guys to get into trouble.
Please submit your entry as a deviation in a note or in the comments of this journal.
Your entry must be new and submitted AFTER this journal is submitted. Time-traveling is cheating and will be disqualified. Also, please don't reuse an old deviation. You may enter up to two times if you wish, but only one of those entries will be able to win. Literature submissions will not be admitted. I realize that literature is a valid art form and that it takes a lot of skill to be able to write a decent piece of literature, but I feel that it would be very difficult to judge a literature submission against a more visual submission. Please don't bribe the judges! You may include as many characters as you'd like in your entry. If you want to include your OCs in your entry, you're more than welcome to do so! If I've already drawn a character as a different age somewhere in my gallery, you can draw that character as well, but try to come up with a different design.
Entries are due by Friday, August 23, 11:59 Pacific Time.
(I currently have 496 points, so it won't go any lower than that)
(I can also buy you a one-month premium membership with those points and give the remainder to you as well)
A FREE commission (up to $24 worth)
Normally when I do judging, I just let anyone who wants to vote for their favorite entries, but that allows for a lot that can go wrong. (Miscounted votes, people rallying their watchers to vote for them, etc) To avoid that, I'll be looking for a couple of people who are willing to be judges for this contest.
I won't be able to offer requests due to time constraints, but I'm willing to pay 200 for anyone who is able and willing to judge.
This will be done after the judging process has ended.
If you would like to judge, please be sure that you will be able and willing to vote in a non-biased manner anywhere between the times of August 24th to August 27th.
Judges will not be able to submit entries to the contest.
Judging will be comprised of selecting a handful of favorite entries and rating them on a scale of 1-10.
I will take up to TWO judges, listed below.
I think that about covers it! If you've got any questions, please feel free to shoot them my way.
