Commission Info (Currently on hold)

Journal Entry: Tue Jun 11, 2013, 9:41 AM

Commissions are currently on hold until further notice. I will still work on the commissions that have already been ordered, but I will not take any new orders for a while. Thank you.

So it's taken me pretty much forever to open my commissions, but I finally did it! Keep in mind this will be my first time openly allowing commissions that involve real, actual money so I'll probably iron this journal out later down the line.

Things I will draw
:bulletgreen: Pixel art is a thing that a lot of people seem to want from me, so it would only be logical if I made these open for commission.
:bulletgreen: I also do full-blown illustrations, too!
:bulletgreen: I'll do comics as well, as long as they're kept to a relatively short length. (No full-blown novels, please)
:bulletgreen: I'll do simple flash animations, too :)
:bulletgreen: Check out my gallery for a general idea of things I will do.

Things I won't do
:bulletred: Flat-out porn and weird fetishy things. I'll draw fluff and pin-up-y things as long as it's kept relatively PG-13, but if you would be embarrassed to show it to your grandmother, chances are I won't do it.
:bulletred: Sculpture and traditional paintings. Supplies and shipping are expensive, and setting up a workspace for these things is a pain in the ass. Not to mention I don't feel confident enough in my abilities to sell these.
:bulletred: wordy-things including poetry, literature, and typography. If any of you guys watch me for these things, I have to wonder how in the world you found such things in the first place, because I just flat-out don't do them.
:bulletred: Robots! Anglular, perspective-y things are not my forte. Simple robots are fine, though-- I just don't want to draw mechs or anything.
:bulletred: Graphic design. I know nothing about this, so I won't be able to make web layouts or logos or anything.

Payment methods

I take payment in a number of different ways:
:bulletgreen: Paypal
:bulletgreen: Credit card
:bulletgreen: Debit card
:bulletyellow: dA points via the commission widget (though this is kind of a pain in the ass and it costs 10% more to compensate for the 20% that dA takes off transactions)

:bulletred: I do NOT take payment through the mail; there are too many risks associated with it, and I do not feel comfortable sending people my home address.

If you know me IRL and we see each other fairly often (like in class or something) then you can also pay me in person with cash. :)

I don't really have set prices for my commissions yet. Instead, I think I'll start by charging an hourly work rate, at $8 USD per hour. This can be subject to change. Payment is due when I've finished your commission. I'll send you a note with my payment information when I'm done.

Below are some rough estimates of common types of commissions. Please be aware that prices can go above or below the estimated range, depending on how simple or complex your request is. I can give you a more accurate price if you describe exactly what kind of commission you want.

rough sketch
Bonus Commish: GinxShan by medli20

$8-16 USD

Simple digital drawings
Thaxter T. Mortimer by medli20Commission: Ryze by medli20Nostalgia by medli20

$16-24 USD

Illustrations with more involvement
Floaties by medli20Hello, Mallory. by medli20TF2: Badwater Basin by medli20

$24-64 USD
(There is more variety here due to the number of variables that affect the amount of time involved. Examples of such variables include but are not limited to backgrounds, materials, and level of activity within the image itself.)

150x150 animated pixel thingies
Commission: Eeyrie by medli20Tendon pixel by medli20Jamming on the guiTARDIS by medli20

$24 USD
(limit one character per pixel thingy. Any more than that and it complicates the animation cycles, causing movements to look somewhat glitchy and sloppy.)

50x50 avatars
Free Icon: Bulbasaur Cabbagepatch by medli20Free Icon: Do a Little Dance by medli20Commission: Mercury by medli20

$8-16 USD

Larger works of pixel art
Candelabra by medli20Waker of Winds by medli20Commission: Henshin A Go-Go Baby! by medli20

$24-48 USD, depending on size and complexity

Other works
Obviously there are all kinds of other types of work that I haven't listed here. Contact me if you'd like to order a thing but the price isn't listed.

Or, contact me if the price IS listed, but you want a more precise estimate.

Things that make life easier.
:bulletgreen: Notes! It's far easier to keep track of a note than it is to keep track of a comment on a journal or something.
:bulletgreen: Progress thumbnails! If you want me to send you WIPs of your commission, let me know! That way, if something is turning out in a way that you don't like, I can change it sooner rather than later. It's also easier for me to change things earlier in the process as well, so this is pretty helpful. :) If you don't request any WIPs or progress thumbnails, I'll assume you don't want any.
:bulletgreen: Livestreams! If you want me to livestream your commission, let me know! Please bear in mind, though, that I won't be available to livestream at all hours in the day. I do have to do basic things like eating, sleeping, and showering.
:bulletgreen: Reference! Reference is absolutely wonderful. Also, please don't just send me visual references-- if you're commissioning a character I'm not familiar with, please give me a brief description of their personality, the way they interact with other characters you may also want me to draw, maybe a preferred pose, etc. This eliminates a lot of guesswork on my part and speeds up the process significantly.
:bulletgreen: Do-overs! If you're not quite satisfied with the end result of your commission, let me know! I'll do my best to fix it.

Slots will re-open as soon as they're finished, so check back later if they're full right now. I think I'll limit it to one commission per person at a time. If you would like one commission now and more later or cancel at any time, then that's A-okay. :)

Progress key:
:bulletred: = awaiting orders
:bulletyellow: = basic order placed, awaiting reference/details
:bulletgreen: = Ready to start
:star::star-half::star-empty: = commission started. Filled stars indicate approximate progress.

The-Angle-Of-Sorrow :star::star::star: (Done, awaiting payment)

4. Oops there is no fourth slot, but if any of the above three slots are open, you're more than welcome to take it :)

NOTE: If you are unable to pay via Paypal, PLEASE let me know in advance so that payment arrangements can be secured beforehand. Thank you!
