Ever have one of these days?:
You log onto deviantART and notice you have some new messages in your inbox. excited, you look at your messages, and you see that someone new has watched you. "Oh, boy!" you think. "Someone new is watching me because they like my art!" You click on their username to thank them for the watch, or to just take a look at their profile because you like to know what kind of people are watching you. You glance over their gallery, their journal, their favorites-- until your eyes travel down to the comments on their profile, and your heart sinks.

This person has comments from different people saying "Thanks for the watch!" all spaced minutes apart. You know what this means: It's a spam-watcher who watches EVERYBODY, just to get more pageviews.

Don't you hate this? I've gotten a few spam-watchers in the past, but one unnamed spam-watcher made me laugh and groan in disgust at the same time. They had watched me a year ago, and I knew right away that they were a spam watcher. Just recently, they added me to their watch AGAIN, and I noticed that there were all sorts of people who were saying what a great person this user was. Can you say, "Getting attention for all the wrong reasons?"

Totally agree.

The people I watch means that I am interested in their art and are friendly. Not everyone is looking for pageviews.

i watch a lot of people and i have lots of people saying" oh thank you for the watch!" but i am not a spam-watcher! i am just nice and everybody i am friends with is freinds with someone else and then i am like oh, who is that? so i check out their art and i am like wow you are good and so i watch them! and then they say thanks! but i am NOT i repeat N-O-T a spam-watcher

just because they have thank you for the watch on thier page does not mean they are a spam-watcher!! do not make those generolizations! it is just plain rude!

...Okay but I wasn't talking about people who just happen to watch a lot of people or have a lot of "thank you for the watch" messages on their page?? I was talking about people whose pages are full of "thank you for the watch" messages all posted minutes apart.

Spend a little more time reading the description the next time you decide to victimize yourself and accuse me of being rude.
