Hello, Mallory. by medli20 Hello, Mallory. by medli20
"Why so anxious?"

This is my waiting-for-class-to-start drawing from a few weeks ago. I wanted to try drawing Mallory and Higgins again, so I figured I'd use them as my subject.

Not much else I want to say about this, but DAMN, Mallory's shadows are confusing.

I like this work. The shadow that's shown on the wall reminds me of "the Music of Razors" for some reason... at the same time, it reminds me of this work:

I'm saying it reminds me of it, because the two contrast really well in my opinion: in the former, the child is asleep and is innocent of anything happening, while as an adult this could be the result... even the form of the monster in question also makes this interesting to consider.

I have also seen another of the same character's deviations in the More Like This. so I'm aware that she's an original character. I'm just saying that, in my opinion, that's what I came up with.

Either way, this is a very well drawn artwork, and I like it. Cheers :)

Wow! Thank you so much for the insightful feedback! I'd have to agree with you on the similarities-- I've seen this drawing before, but it wasn't until after I'd made this drawing. That being said, I hadn't made the connection between the two drawings until you had pointed it out, and it's pretty neat to see the same contrasts between frightening and innocent explored by another artist. :)

Thank you so much again!

Your welcome :)

And yes... that drawing truly is something (even though the artist himself is a douche who doesn't respond to comments on his work, but I guess that's the price we pay for "artistic license").

 stay happy.

This was a drawn while you were waiting? Exactly how long are we talking?

I love the cross hatch work in both the shading and how the roundness is being shown in elements
Also your originality you have in your characters

It wasn't all done in one sitting, mind you; just over 15-minute intervals scattered over the course of a few weeks :XD:

Thank you so much! :D

I think the drawing is really good. The way you got the light to show up is so realistic, I can really see that bright light shining into the room. The girl -Mallory- looks so real and the expression on her face just grabs you and then you follow her eyes to the shadow monster behind her and I'm like WOW! You're skilled with the hatching and cross-hatching and it brings your piece to life in a unique and captivating way. I wish that art like this would be promoted more.
